Section 144 has been implemented in Tirupati due to the Municipal Corporation Deputy Mayor election. Meanwhile, the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) alleged that their corporators were kidnapped, but the corporators released videos claiming they were safe. In another development, a dramatic situation unfolded in Tirupati late at night. Former Deputy Mayor Abhinaya Reddy reportedly attacked TDP leader Mabu Devanarayana Reddy's house, where the YSRCP corporators were present. Abhinaya Reddy and his supporters allegedly created chaos and attacked the location.
Additionally, the special meeting for the election of the Deputy Mayor in the Tirupati Municipal Corporation was postponed due to the lack of a quorum. The election process will continue under the implementation of Section 144 until completed, as confirmed by Tirupati Collector and District Magistrate Dr. Venkateswar S. Further, steps are being taken to ensure law and order, with around 250 additional personnel deployed for security. The authorities have warned of legal actions if any disruptive incidents occur.
